Christmas Play 2013

We had our annual trip to the Lambert Puppet Theatre to see Cinderella and it was a great success. All of the children had a fun time and for the first time ever we didn’t need to bring coats on a December day as the weather was sooo warm!!

Whoops A Daisy Angel was this years nativity play. Juno played the lead role and all of the children looked fantastic in their costumes. They sang their hearts out and were delighted with a visit from Santa afterwards.

We will reopen on Monday 6th January at 8.45am 2014

We are looking forward to meeting our new pupils and welcoming our returning ones! There are still places available for new entrants, please get in touch by email or phone if you are interested in starting your child in the new term. (ECCE places available too)

Our first two days and two weeks will be shortened hours to ease the children into the routine gently. The hours will be 8.45am – 11.30am. Back to normal then on Monday 16th, 8.45am-12.45pm.

Storytime in the garden

We are winding down for the summer holidays now. We have been learning about the butterfly life cycle and we have 5 little caterpillars in our classroom. They are getting big and fat and soon they will be in their cocoons. We hope they will have turned into butterflies by the time our summer holidays come around.

We are going on our school trip to Glenroe Farm in 2 weeks. Everyone is really excited!

All of the children have been busy working in school and enjoying some fun times in the garden with the parachute!

We have been celebrating Mother’s Day, St Patrick’s Day and Easter!

We painted our feet to make special angel cards for our Moms and we made Leprechaun Funny Faces!

We are looking forward to our Easter Bunny Hunt on Friday too.

We have learned lots of Irish verbs and a new song about a dog called Rags. We did the 3 states of water experiment and Ruth did Zumba dancing with us. We have started to use the parachute in the garden too, it’s great fun!

Sorcha turned 4, Ross celebrated his 5th Birthday and Peter will be 3 this week….and Casey has a new baby brother Max!

Happy Easter

Welcome back to school! We had a great Christmas break and our Nativity Play and Santas visit were a huge success.

We also loved the our trip to the Lambert Puppet Theatre and we had a fun ‘play day’ in December too when we brought a toy or game to school for the day.

We welcome our newest pupil Juno to our class, she is letting the girls catch up on the boys, but the boys are still winning 8-6!

Last week we talked about the different instruments in the orchestra and we even made our own rainsticks to shake as we sing.

We have two birthdays coming up soon too, Aoibhinn and Sidney will be 3!

Happy New Year

The Christmas Countdown is on…. We are busy rehearsing for our school Nativity play called ‘We Three Kings’ and learning seven new songs to go with our fine acting skills! We can’t wait for our Christmas play and party and hope that Santa makes an appearance.

We are off to the Lambert Puppet Theatre this week for our annual Christmas outing and it is Derek’s 4th Birthday too!

A big welcome to the new pupils of Monkstown Grove Montessori School!

We started back to school on Monday 3rd September and our new students are settling in well. We are having fun learning new things and getting to know new friends. We have been out in the garden everyday playing and we even had our first P.E. Buntus session on Wednesday last….we played Sticky Bits and Rabbit Hole!
